My Five Favorite Films

Antonia's Line - Winner of the 1995 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. I like it because it shows how strong women can make a difference over several generations.
Booty Call - Widely criticized by the Black intelligencia and politicians, this movie gives a uncomplicated view of safe sex.
Bulworth - Widely critiqued by blacks because of Halle Berry's role, this movie lays out why the black and minority community is ignored by Democrats and Republicans.
Chocolat - Nominated for 5 Academy Awards, this film stars a strong woman and her attempt to deal with her ancestral heritage as a shaman. I like it because its romantic, too!
Mars Attacks! - One of the quotes on the cover says it all, "Nice planet. We'll take it!" This comedy exposes the true nature of all colonizers! First they say we come as friends, then the next sound you here is their gun going off in your chest. For real!
